The 400 year old Thatch Barn is grade II listed, and was completely renovated to be the perfect wedding venue.
Only half an hour from the centre of Cambridge, and the same from Bedford, this rural retreat has all the rustic charm you can imagine from a thatched, oak beamed barn on a working farm.
When the Thatch Barn was refurbished, every effort was made to retain its period features whilst bringing in some essential modern facilities.
Old beams that needed replacing have become the built-in bar, and the milking sheds were transformed into a modern kitchen that's still in keeping with the old design.
The glass entryway spills natural light into the venue, and gives guests a wonderful view across the patio and over the Cambridgeshire Countryside.
The Barn isn't licensed for ceremonies, but just across the road is the pretty Church of the Holy Cross where (if approved by the vicar of course) you can marry and simply cross over the road to your reception.
One of the lovely things about the Thatch Barn is that they only hold one wedding a week, which gives you plenty of time to set up and take down decorations without having to rush around the morning after the big day.
The Barn itself is a great place for photos, with its gorgeous oak beams and exposed brickwork, but you can also hire cool and quirky items to help decorate the farm and courtyard (including a donut door!).

Wedding
The Thatch Barn is over 400 years old and a wonderful venue to shoot at. I really enjoyed shooting Hayley and Gary - they were so easy to work with and a lovely couple. Their wedding day was absolutely gorgeous and I was delighted to capture their big day.
